Ali Goes to Bosworth

During our successful Kickstarter campaign for Rex Factor the Animated Show, Ali took the brand new Rex Factor camera and went to the re-enactment of the Battle of Bosworth, where Richard III met his end at the hands of Henry VII. In these two videos, Ali watches the re-enactment, tries his hand at jousting and meets some fascinating people including Phil Stone, chair of the Richard III Society, and even the rival kings themselves!

Sir Marmaduke Constable: The Veteran of Bosworth Killed by a Frog

BBC news story today revealed that descendants from those who fought on either side of the Battle of Bosworth were set to meet in Leicester as part of the commemoration of Richard III’s reinterment. This is now, however, surely overshadowed by the fact that one of the ancestors who fought at Bosworth was a man called Sir Marmaduke Constable, about whom you need to know three things: firstly, his name was Sir Marmaduke Constable; secondly, he had a long and interesting career in a turbulent period of English history; thirdly, he was eventually brought to mortal conclusion by a frog.

The Final Journey of Richard III – What You Need to Know

Richard III kept a pretty low profile for the first 527 years after his defeat and death in the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, but since his exhumation in 2012 his diary has been much more active. The next week will see him re-interred at Leicester Cathedral (after which his activity levels will quieten down considerably) so read on to find out what is happening where and when, and how you can follow the all of the events.
